ASUN Release
ATLANTA, Ga. – The ASUN Conference announced the Softball 2011-20 All-Decade Team with five Kennesaw State Owls on the list.
To be named to the All-Decade Team an individual must have competed for at least two years in the decade as an ASUN student-athlete. Individuals that obtained one of the following criteria were named to the team; three First Team All-Conference selections, four All-Conference selections, multiple Scholar-Athlete/Player of the Year. Individuals that obtained at least two of the following criteria were also named to the team; Player/Pitcher/Tourney MVP/Freshman/Defensive Player/Scholar-Athlete of the Year, three All-Conference selections, two First Team All-Conference selections.
Jessica Cross (2008-12)
- The ASUN's 2012 Player of the Year, Cross was a four-time All-Conference pick including three First Team selections (2008, 2010, 2012). In the conference career record book, she ranks third for home runs (57), seventh in RBIs (175) and 10th in slugging percentage (.606). Her 57 homers are second-most of any ASUN player in the decade.
Alley Cutting (2016-18)
- Cutting earned a pair of individual awards in her Kennesaw State career capturing the ASUN's Pitcher of the Year honor in 2018 and the Freshman of the Year accolade in 2017. She was named to the 2018 All-Tournament Team after leading the Owls to their first ASUN Championship title. Cutting also earned four Pitcher of the Week honors and was a two-time First Team All-Conference recipient in her career.
Taylor Denton (2014-17)
- A four-time Second Team All-Conference honoree (2014-17), Denton was also named to a pair of All-Academic Teams (2015-16) during her Kennesaw State career. A member of the 2017 Owls squad that finished runner-up in the ASUN Championship, she was named to the All-Tournament Team in 2016.
Courtney Sutter (2013-17)
- The 2017 ASUN Player of the Year, Sutter ranks 17th in the conference career record book with 37 home runs. A three-time Player of the Week honoree and three-time All-Conference selection as a catcher, she guided Kennesaw State to a runner-up finish in the 2017 ASUN Championship.
Sharon Swanson (2010-13)
- During her Kennesaw State career, Swanson earned three consecutive First Team All-Conference selections from 2011-13. She ranks eighth in league history for career home runs (45) and is 18th for career slugging percentage (.607).
