ATLANTA, Ga. - For the second time in her career,
Katie Greep was named Player of the Week by the ASUN Conference.
The sophomore outfielder earned the nod from the conference after batting an astounding .545 this weekend in five games at the Colorado State Classic, with six hits, scoring three runs, and finishing the tournament with seven RBI and a homerun. Greep also finished the weekend with a 1.000 slugging percentage.
Greep's two RBI against Purdue helped tie the game twice, a homer in the fourth inning to tie the Boilermakers at one apiece and an RBI single in the seventh to send the game into extras, where the Owls would score four runs to earn their fourth win over a Power Five program and their second straight over a Big Ten Conference team.
The California native's five RBI against Idaho State led the Owls to a 4-1 weekend in Fort Collins, and her final RBI single ended the game on Sunday, Mar. 8 in five innings.
This is the second career ASUN Player of the Week award for Greep, her last win coming on Feb. 17, and the third total for KSU this season.
Greep and the Owls will soar to Ft. Myers, Fla. this weekend for their first conference series of the season against FGCU.
