KENNESAW, Ga. - Kennesaw State baseball has a rematch against the Jacksonville State Gamecocks on Tuesday and takes on new foe, Quinnipiac, on Wednesday.

Top Storylines
• The Owls are coming off a 3-1 weekend series victory over Brown. After dropping the first game of the series, KSU bounced back with three straight wins including back-to-back shutouts. The Owls now sit at a record of 10-6 on the year. 

Nick Hassan had a fantastic weekend against Brown. Hassan went 5-for-13 at the plate with two RBI and two runs scored. The last of his RBI gave the Owls the lead in the eighth inning of Sunday's 6-5 victory over Brown. Hassan now has a batting average of .417 which puts him at second in the ASUN. 

• Freshman pitcher Colby Williams was incredible in his first start of the year in the second game of Saturday's double header. Williams went for 7.0 innings, giving up just five hits and no runs, while fanning nine batters and no walks.

Justin Russell had another strong weekend in the series against Brown. Russell went 6-for-15 at the plate with two runs scored, two RBI and a home run. He is now tied for second in the ASUN in hits with 20 and is tied for fourth in total tuns scored with 15.

• Saturday's double header marked the first time since 2014 that KSU has shutout back-to-back opponents. The Owls shutout Georgia State and Columbia on March 4 and 7, respectively, of 2014.

Jared Rine continues to impress in his first year as a regular starter. Rine started for the Owls on Friday, lasting 5.0 innings while giving up nine hits and three earned runs. In four starts, he leads the Owls' regular starting pitching staff in ERA (3.57) and batting average against (.254).

• After this weekend's series, the Owls now lead the ASUN in total hits (146), total RBI (96) on-base percentage (.379), and batting average (.278).  The Owls sit at second in total runs scored (103).

Alex Carballo continued his standout season against Brown last weekend. Carballo had three RBI and four runs scored over the four games against Brown. He is first in the ASUN in total RBI with 17 and second in total runs scored with 17.

• Jacksonville State comes into Tuesday's rematch against KSU with a record of 6-8. In their first meeting this year, the Owls emerged victorious with a 3-0 victory. 

• Quinnipiac enters Wednesday's tilt with the Owls with a record of 1-11. The Bobcats have one more game against Furman on Tuesday before they take on KSU in Stillwell Stadium. 

Luke Torbert had a tough start to the year, with his first two starts coming against No. 4 Georgia, but he has bounced back nicely against JSU and Brown. On Sunday Torbert pitched 4.0 innings giving up five hits and two earned runs while striking out two.

• Outfielder Terence Norman was selected as the Preseason ASUN Player of the Year. The senior led the conference in batting average in 2019 (.350) on his way to earning First Team All-Conference honors.
