Top Storylines
• The Owls are coming off a 3-0 victory over the Jacksonville State Gamecocks on Tuesday, which marked their second shutout of the season. The Owls have won three-straight and now sit at 7-5 on the season. 

• Justin Russell had a stellar performance at the plate against the Gamecocks going 2-for-3 at the plate with one RBI and a run scored. With his latest run, he now sits in a tie for third in the conference in total runs scored with 13. 

• In this past Sunday's game against Pennsylvania, Alex Carballo was the hero for KSU. With the Owls down a run in the bottom of the ninth inning, Carballo hit a two-run double to left center to win the game for KSU, 6-5. 

• Jared Rine continues to impress in his first year as a regular starter. Rine started for the Owls last Saturday, lasting 5.0 innings while giving up just one hit and no earned runs. In three starts, he leads the Owls' starting pitching staff in ERA (2.84) and opponent batting average (.191). Rine will start in the Owls' game against Brown on Friday.

• After Tuesday's game, the Owls now lead the ASUN in total hits with 111. KSU sits at second in the conference in total RBI's (77), total runs (82), and on-base percentage (.392). The Owls sit at third in batting average (.280).

• The Owls will start Ryan Kennedy in the first game of Saturday's double-header against Brown. Kennedy has started in all three of his appearances this year and in those games has an ERA of 9.00 while fanning eight total batters.  

• Freshman Nick Hassan has had a superb start to the year. In just nine games played, Hassan has 12 hits and eight RBI's. Hassan also has a batting average of .429, which leads the team. 

• Brown baseball has opened the season with a record of 2-6. Will Tomlinson, who will pitch against the Owls on Sunday, was just named the Ivy League Pitcher of the Week for his performance against La Salle last Sunday. 

• Luke Torbert had a tough start to the year, with his first two starts coming against No. 4 Georgia, but he bounced back nicely against JSU on Tuesday to earn his first win of the season. Torbert pitched 4.0 innings giving up just one hit and no earned runs while striking out four.

• Outfielder Terence Norman was selected as the Preseason ASUN Player of the Year. The senior led the conference in batting average in 2019 (.350) on his way to earning First Team All-Conference honors. 

• Russell joined Norman on the Preseason All-Conference list after having an impactful season in his first as an Owl in 2019. He mashed 12 home runs last season and hit .308. He was mesmerizing at the plate in league play, knocking in 25 runs while collecting 30 hits, which ranked second and sixth, respectfully.
