Top Storylines
• The Owls are coming off a series victory over Ivy League opponent, Pennsylvania. After dropping the first game of the series on Friday, the Owls won back-to-back games, bringing the series record to 2-1 and the overall record to 6-5

Garrett Hodges had an outstanding weekend at the plate with a batting average of .333 as well as three RBI's and four runs scored. Hodges leads the team in hits with 15 and now sits at third on the team with a season batting average of .366. He is also tied for fourth in the conference with his 15 total hits.

Alex Carballo was the hero of the game on Sunday against Penn. With the Owls down a run in the bottom of the ninth inning, Carballo hit a two RBI double to left center to win the game for KSU, 6-5.Â

Jared Rine continues to impress in his first year as a regular starter. Rine started for the Owls on Saturday, lasting 5.0 innings while giving up just one hit and no earned runs. In three starts, Rine leads the Owl's starting pitching staff in ERA (2.84) and batting average against (.191).
• KSU is currently second in the ASUN in total RBI's (75), total runs (79), on-base percentage (.398), and total hits (102). They sit at third in batting average (.279).

Luke Torbert against Jacksonville State on Tuesday. In Torbert's three appearances this year he has pitched 7.0 total innings surrendering 12 hits and 11 earned runs. Torbert started in both matchups this season against No. 4 Georgia.
• Freshman
Nick Hassan has had a superb start to the year. In just seven games played, Hassan has 10 hits and seven RBI's. Hassan also has a batting average of .435, which is second best on the team.Â
• Jacksonville State has opened this season with a 5-5 record. With the Owls traveling to Jacksonville for their game against the Gamecocks, JSU will have played all 11 of their games this season at home. The Gamecocks starting pitcher has not been announced at this time.Â
• Carballo continued to add on to his already incredible resume last weekend.  Carballo had five RBI's and two runs scored over the weekend to bring his season totals to 14 and 12, respectively. Carballo's 14 RBIs leads the conference and his 12 runs scored land him at fourth.
• Outfielder
Terence Norman was selected as the Preseason ASUN Player of the Year. The senior led the conference in batting average in 2019 (.350) on his way to earning First Team All-Conference honors.Â

Justin Russell joined Norman on the Preseason All-Conference list after having an impactful season in his first as an Owl in 2019. He mashed 12 home runs last season and hit .308. He was mesmerizing at the plate in league play, knocking in 25 runs while collecting 30 hits, which ranked second and sixth, respectfully.
• Coach Sansing welcomed
Travis McClanahan as Kennesaw State's pitching coach in 2020. McClanahan completed 18 seasons as the head coach at Gordon State College before his tenure as an Owl. There, he mentored 2019 15th round draft pick Adam Leverett, who went to the Phillies.
