JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – The Kennesaw State men's tennis team picked up a 5-2 win over Jacksonville State on Thursday.
"Great effort across the board today from the guys," Director of Tennis
Matt Emery said. "When we compete like we did today at every spot, we are a very difficult team to beat, and that will be our focus moving forward. We were also super proud of Seru for being an absolute rock the past two days. It was great to see his hard work start to pay off."
The six singles matches were finished on Thursday after rain postponed the match with KSU leading 1-0. The doubles and one set of singles were finished on Wednesday.
In singles, Freshman
Seru Tezuka pushed the Owls lead to 2-0 with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Jordi Blanchar at No. 6.
Bryan Triana posted a 7-5, 6-2 win over Guillermo Agost on court one to give the Owls a 3-1 lead.
Kevin Patel clinched the victory when he beat Dmitrii Vasilev 7-5, 6-2 at No. 4.
Sergio Ingles continued his strong play of late defeating Joaquin Vallejo 6-7, 7-6, 10-6 at No. 2.
