OPELIKA, Ala. –
The Kennesaw State men's golf team finished play at the Tiger Invitational on Tuesday at the Grand National Lake Course.

"I'm proud of how the team fought back and improved each day," Head Coach Bryant Odom said. "We took advantage of some opportunities and improved our par-5 scoring versus the previous two rounds. We ended the tournament with the fourth most pars in the field which shows we played a lot of solid holes. Continuing to improve on the par 5s and having more birdie opportunities will result in higher finishes for us going forward."

The Owls posted an 8-over par 296 in Tuesday's final round finishing 18th with three-round total score of 46-over par 910. No. 15 Auburn concluded the tournament at 10-under par 854 to win the event.

Connor Coffee was the Owls top finisher in the event. The senior carded his second consecutive even-par round of 72 to finish with a 3-over par total of 219 and in a tie for 28th. Coffee led the Owls with 36 pars and nine birdies in the three-day event.

Takafumi Shimoji recorded 11 pars and two birdies over his final 18 holes to shoot a 2-over par 74. He finished in a tie for 74th at 13-over par 229.

Preston Topper and Brady Keran each shot their low rounds of the tournament on Tuesday. Both players carded rounds of 2-over par 74. Topper finished tied for 83rd at 15-over and Keran took home a tie for 89th at 16-over par for the tournament.

Brock Healy shot 79 and finished 93rd with a total score of 22-over par 238.

The Owls return to action March 20-22 when they co-host with Mercer University the Linger Longer Invitational at The Landing Course at Reynolds Lake Oconee in Greensboro, Ga.
