Top Storylines
• Kennesaw State is looking to sweep the season series against Lipscomb after beating the Bison 74-66 in Nashville.
• Saturday is Pink Day at Kennesaw State, a time that the community can rally around breast cancer awareness and honor those that have been effected. Last season, Kennesaw State beat NJIT 70-47 on Pink Day.
• The Owls almost completed an impressive comeback against Liberty on Monday, trimming a 23-point Flame lead to seven points.
• A week ago against UNF seemed like anomaly, with the Owls shooting just 28.3 percent against the Ospreys, a season-low by almost four percentage points.
• Two days later against Liberty, the Owls put on a clinic, shooting 50.9 percent against the flames, KSU's second-highest mark of the season.
• Kennesaw State has taken advantage of its trips to the free-throw line this season. The Owls rank 22nd in the country from the line, shooting at a 76.2 percent clip.Â
• Alexis Poole has been incredible so far this season for Kennesaw State. She ranks 73rd in the country in double-doubles with eight in the 19 games that she has played.Â
• Poole is efficient from the floor, as she is shooting 58.5 percent, a figure that leads the ASUN and ranks 18th in the country.
• One of the Owls' keys to victory this season has been rebounding the basketball. When Kennesaw State out-rebounds opponents, the Owls are 8-1 so far this season. When KSU is outrebounded, the Owls are 1-10.
• Amani Johnson has displayed incredible vision this season for the Owls. The sophomore ranks second in the ASUN in assists per game (3.7), which ranks 164th in the country.Â
• A trend that continues from last season, Amani Johnson rarely gets taken off the court. This season, she is averaging 38:43 minutes per contest, which ranks third in the country.
• During the summer, it was announced that the Owls were ranked No. 20 in the WBCA Academic rankings. The Owls were the sole program in the ASUN to receive the honor as well as the only program in the state of Georgia to be recognized on the list. KSU ended the season with a 3.54 GPA.
• This past fall, the team achieved a GPA of 3.37, as all ten student-athletes were above a 3.0 GPA with four student-athletes on the Dean's list
Noting Lipscomb
• Lipscomb comes into the contest on a three-game losing streak against North Florida, Jacksonville and Stetson.
• The Bisons are looking for their second road conference game of the season against beating Stetson in DeLand, Fla., on Jan. 6 65-59.
• Jalyn Holcomb leads Lipscomb in scoring by pouring in 14.1 points per game. In league play, it has been Taylor Clark making her mark, averaging 17.0 points per game.
