Final Results
LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Kennesaw State women's track and field team captured second place at the ASUN Indoor Championship on Saturday at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex.
Team Scoring
The women's team finished scoring 126.50 points in the two-day meet. Liberty grabbed the title with 194.50 points. The Owls placed ahead of Jacksonville, Lipscomb, North Florida and NJIT.
Medal Winners
Nia Seldon won the weight throw with a toss of 18.72m (61'5"). That throw established a new school record in the event.
Sarah Hendrick ran a time of 4:52.56 and
Makenzie Zeh posted a time of 4:54.07 in the mile to take home the silver and bronze medals.
Olivia Brown continued her strong freshman campaign winning the 60m hurdles in a time of 8.55 seconds.
Corbin McLean finished .12 seconds behind Brown at 8.67 seconds and was third.
Sarah Hendrick crossed the line in a time of 2:09.11 and finished second in the 800m.
The women's 4x400m relay team of
Aseneth Williams,
Britiney Johnson,
Imani Christian and
Jayla Mobley finished third in a time of 3:50.04 to round out the event for the Owls.
Director of Track and Field and Cross Country Cale McDaniel's thoughts on the final day of the ASUN Championship and his staff.
"These women are so talented and have such a long way in a short amount of time. We will continue to rewrite the record book and climb up the ASUN Conference.I have a great staff here and they are doing a tremendous job."
