KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State looks to stay unblemished at home as the Owls host Rider, Iowa State and Penn State in the I-75 Challenge.
The doubleheader against Rider on Friday, Feb. 28 at 2:00 PM and the game against Penn State on Sunday, Mar. 1 will be streamed on The Owl Network 2 on YouTube. Links to the broadcast and stats for all games this weekend are available at KSUOwls.com.

The team will be selling game-worn adidas jerseys during the doubleheader against Iowa State this Saturday, Feb. 29. Cash will be the only accepted method of payment. Jerseys are available as two for either $20 or $25.Â
Storylines
- KSU looks to rebound from a heartbreaking loss to Georgia Tech on Wednesday, Feb. 26. The Owls held a one-run lead until a Yellow Jacket home run in the bottom of the sixth inning gave GT the 2-1 victory.
- The Owls finished 3-1 in the I-75 Challenge last season, splitting with Hofstra and sweeping Western Carolina. The final game against Fordham was canceled due to weather.
- KSU is 9-5 all time in the I-75 Challenge.

Offense sells tickets…
- Through 15 games this season, the Owls rank fourth in the nation in batting average, hitting an impressive .365 as a team.
- The Owls have been flying around the base paths, as the team ranks eighth nationally in doubles with 29 and fourth in triples with eight.
- Patience at the plate has been key for KSU, leading to an on-base percentage of .440, ranked 14thin the nation.
- So far this season, the Owls have outscored their opponents, 111-36.

…defense wins championships
- KSU has allowed just 2.4 runs per game this season. The most runs allowed this season was in a 9-2 decision to Troy.
- Lindsey Kyte has burst onto the scene in her first year, as she ranks fifth in the nation in hits allowed per seven innings, allowing just 2.21 a game.
- Melanie Bennett is also having a solid freshman season as the Kennesaw native has struck out 32 batters and walked just five.
- The pitching staff has been lights out this year shutting out four teams. Last year, the Owls shut out five teams all season.

Remember the Name
- Cheyanne Sales has been the surprise of the season in the ASUN. The freshman is second on the team in batting average at .439 and has hit two home runs.
- Sales ranks seventh in the nation in doubles with seven so far this season.
- Sales' 18 RBI rank 27thin the nation.

Owls are Soaring
- Hannah Thomason is tied for eighth in the nation in stolen bases with nine.
- Brea Dickey is tied for fourth in the nation in triples with three. Dickey had just two triples all of last year.

Feel the Power

This weekend's series against Iowa State and Penn State will be the third and fourth different Power Five program KSU has faced this season. The Owls are currently 1-1 against Power Five teams, including a road win over Auburn earlier in the season. KSU still have games against Oklahoma State, Purdue, Clemson and a rematch with Georgia Tech for the annual Lexi's Day game on April 15.

- This will be the first meeting for the Owls against Rider. KSU is 6-0 all-time against current teams from the MAAC.
- KSU leads the series vs Iowa State, 2-1. The last meeting was on Feb. 11, 2007, a 3-1 win for KSU.
- Penn State leads the series against Kennesaw State, 2-0. The last meeting was in Kennesaw on Mar. 8, 2011, a 2-1 win in eight innings for the Nittany Lions.

Scouting the Opposition
- Rider is currently 0-4 after playing at the Tennessee State Tiger Classic in Nashville last weekend.
- The Broncs are led statistically by Lani Moreno, who leads the team with a .455 batting average, three doubles and an RBI.
- Head Coach Davon Ortega is in her third season and has an overall record of 27-81.
- Iowa State enters the weekend 8-6 after going 3-1 at the Gamecock Invitational in Columbia, S.C. last weekend, including a 5-1 win over no.8 Michigan.
- Sami Williams leads the Cyclones in batting average, hitting .400 on the season with four doubles, one triple, six home runs and 26 RBI.
- Cyclones Coach Jamie Pinkerton is in his third season and has an overall record of 68-64.
- Penn State enters the weekend 5-10 after going 0-5 at the Easton Alabama Bash last weekend in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
- Leading the Lions offensively is Kennedy Legg. Legg enters this weekend with a .389 batting average, two doubles, one homerun and eight RBI.
- Nittany Lions head coach Amanda Lehotak is in her seventh season and has record of 134-203 while at Penn State.
