ATHENS, Ga. – In the second matchup in the last six days, the offense by No. 4 Georgia proved to be too much as the Owls fell 15-1 Tuesday evening at Foley Field.
The Georgia Bulldogs (8-1) came out of the gate swinging, hitting two home runs in the opening frame, resulting in an early 3-0 deficit for the Owls. Kennesaw State (4-4) ultimately gave up four total home runs to the Bulldogs, the most they've allowed all season.
Tyler Tolve continued his impressive season, going 2-for-3 at the plate and adding another run batted in to his already conference leading 12 total RBI's.
Luke Torbert (0-2) drew his second start of the year, both of which came against the Bulldogs. Torbert lasted 2.0 innings and gave up eight hits and nine earned runs. Garrett Brown (1-0), the starting pitcher for UGA, went for 5.0 innings, striking out eight batters in the process.
