KENNESAW, Ga.- Kennesaw State baseball suffered its first loss of the season at the hands of No. 5 Georgia on Wednesday night 11-3 in front of 1,119 fans at Stillwell Stadium.

The Bulldogs jumped on the scoreboard early after plating one in the first. After pushing the lead to 2-0 after the third inning, Georgia tacked on three runs in the fifth to claim a 5-0 advantage.

The Owls continued to battle and scored two runs in the fifth frame.
Alex Carballo drove in
Logan Fink with a single through the right side, while
Ryan Smith's sacrifice bunt brought home
Nick Colina.

It was the closest the Owls ever got, as the Bulldogs drove in four runs in the eighth with two home runs.
Tyler Tolve picked up an RBI in the bottom half of the frame, while Georgia plated the final run of the game in the ninth.

Luke Torbert started for Kennesaw State and fanned a career-high six batters.

The Owls are back on the diamond on Friday against West Virginia.
