KENNESAW, Ga. – Four Owls collected ASUN weekly awards as
Jack Rhea,
Brenton Rosa,
Tanner Duffin and Olivia Brown collected the ASUN Field and Freshman of the Week awards the conference announced on Wednesday (Feb. 12).
Rhea and Rosa were both named ASUN Field Athletes of the Week after they each cleared 5.00m (16'4.75") to finish third and fourth in the pole vault invite at the South Carolina Invitational on Saturday. Their marks rank tied for first in the ASUN this season. This is the first ASUN Field Athlete of the Week award for Rhea and second for Rosa.
Duffin was named ASUN Freshman of the Week for the third time this season. He launched a career-best toss of 18.33m (60'1.75") in the shot put invite to finish fourth. That throw established a new school record and ranks second in the ASUN this season. He would take third in the weight throw landing a toss of 16.65m (54'7.5"). This marks the third time this season Duffin has been named ASUN Freshman of the Week.
Brown ran personal-best times in the 60m (7.99) and the 60m hurdles (8.53) at the South Carolina Invitational on Saturday. She would finish ninth in the 60m hurdles. Her time in the 60m hurdles currently leads the ASUN this season. In the 60m, she finished ninth among freshmen in the event and 23
rd overall. This is the first time that Brown has been named ASUN Freshman of the Week.
The teams will go to Birmingham, Alabama for the Samford Invite #2 on Friday (Feb. 14) at the Birmingham Crossplex.
