KENNESAW, Ga. – Director of Track and Field and Cross Country
Cale McDaniel unveiled the 2021 schedule for the Kennesaw State track and field teams Tuesday afternoon.
"I cannot wait to get the year started with this group of young people," said McDaniel. "I am excited to have a schedule put together and I believe it really sets up nicely to really bring out the best in our program."
KSU will open the indoor season at the Clemson Invitational (Jan. 15-16). The Owls will then compete at the Samford Invite (Jan. 21-23) followed by the Bob Pollock Meet (Jan. 29-30). KSU wraps up its regular season at the Samford Invite No. 2 and the David Hemery Valentine Invitational (Feb. 12-13).
The ASUN Championships (Feb. 26-27) will be held in Lynchburg, Va., while the NCAA Indoor Championships (Mar. 12-13) will be held in Fayetteville, Ark., hosted by the University of Arkansas.
The outdoor season begins with the Owls participating in the Yellow Jacket Invitational (Mar. 19-20) for the fourth consecutive season. KSU will then compete in the Raleigh Relays hosted by North Carolina State (Mar. 27-28). The Owls begin April with a trip to Gainesville, Fla., for the Florida Relays (Apr. 1-3). After a week off, KSU will participate in the Georgia Tech Invitational (Apr. 16-17). The Owls will compete at the Penn Relays, Torrin Lawrence Memorial and Lenny Lyles / Clark Wood Open (Apr. 24-25) before concluding the regular season at the UNF Twilight (Apr. 30 - May 1).
"I am happy that we will remain mostly local and allow family and friends to come see this awesome group of athletes compete," McDaniel added.
The ASUN Outdoor Championships (May 14-15) will take place in Jacksonville, Fla., and will be hosted by the University of North Florida. The NCAA Championships East Regionals are scheduled for May 28-30 at the University of North Florida. The University of Oregon will host the NCAA Championships (June 9-12) and the U.S. Olympic Trials (June 18-27) in Eugene, Ore., at the newly renovated Hayward Field.
