KENNESAW, Ga. – The bats came alive once again for Team Black in game two of the Black and Gold World Series Tuesday afternoon as the Terence Norman captained squad downed Team Gold 10-1 to clinch the series.

Norman finished 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and one run scored while Tyler Simon went 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Despite finishing 1-for-3 at the plate, Alex Carballo led the way with three RBIs followed by freshman Jay Sorohan with two RBIs and two runs scored thanks to a single and two walks drawn.

After a 1-2-3 top of the first, Norman opened the day with a double in his first appearance before Nick Hassan brought him in to score on the next at-bat with an RBI single.

Team Gold got back on level terms the following inning after grad transfer Jake Coro was hit by a pitch to open the second inning. After being moved to second on a sac bunt from Nick Colina and stealing third, Coro came around to score thanks to an RBI single by Joseph Gossett to even the game 1-1.

Team Black eventually broke the game open in the bottom of the fourth inning as Simon sparked a two-out rally with a single to left field. Following a walk drawn by Donovan Cash, Sorohan smacked a hit to right center field to bring in the go-ahead run. Sorohan and Cash would both cross the plate before the inning was over behind a two-RBI single from Carballo to make it 4-1 through four innings.

It was another big inning for Team Black in the fifth as they piled on six more runs.

Malik Spratling got it started reaching first after getting hit by a pitch, he would eventually score off a wild pitch as Team Black loaded the bases with back-to-back singles from Gavin Patel and Simon. Team Black brought two more around to score thanks to three straight walks before a sac fly from Carballo and an RBI single from Norman earned the final score of 10-1.

Starter Luke Torbert was nearly flawless on the mound for Team Black, allowing only one hit and one earned run across his five innings of work while tallying one strikeout.

The two teams will close out the Black and Gold World Series Thursday at 2:30 p.m. as Team Black looks for the perfect 3-0 sweep.
