Top Storylines
• Kennesaw State is looking for its first conference win of the season at the KSU Convocation Center against North Alabama.
• The Owls are coming off a 93-83 loss versus Jacksonville. Alexis Poole was impressive all afternoon and ended with 25 points and eight rebounds.
• Carlotta Gianolla has been unstoppable in conference play so far this season. The senior is averaging 14.5 points per contest to go along with 4.7 rebounds. With her first point against FGCU last week, she surpassed the 1,000th point mark in her career.
• 3-point shooting has been an issue for the Owls all season (ranked 307th in the NCAA), but Breanna Hoover has been the lone star, shooting 47.8 percent in conference play.
• Kennesaw State has taken advantage of its trips to the free-throw line this season. The Owls rank 22nd in the country from the line, shooting at a 77.1 percent clip.
• Alexis Poole has been incredible so far this season for Kennesaw State. She ranks 41st in the country in double-doubles with seven in the 17 games that she has played.
• Poole is efficient from the floor, as she is shooting 59.3 percent, a figure that leads the ASUN and ranks 23rd in the country.
• Poole's improvement over her three years as an Owl should be noted becuase coming into the bout against UNA she has 265, the same amount as her entire freshman season. Noteably, she took 224 shots to get there. This season she has attempted just 162 shots.
• One of the Owls' keys to victory this season has been rebounding the basketball. When Kennesaw State out-rebounds opponents, the Owls are 7-1 so far this season. When KSU is outrebounded, the Owls are 1-8.
• Amani Johnson has displayed incredible vision this season for the Owls. The sophomore ranks first in the ASUN in assists per game (4.2), which ranks 127th in the country.
• A trend that continues from last season, Amani Johnson rarely gets taken off the court. This season, she is averaging 38:52 minutes per contest, which ranks fourth in the country.
• During the summer, it was announced that the Owls were ranked No. 20 in the WBCA Academic rankings. The Owls were the sole program in the ASUN to receive the honor as well as the only program in the state of Georgia to be recognized on the list. KSU ended the season with a 3.54 GPA.
• This past fall, the team achieved a GPA of 3.37, as all ten student-athletes were above a 3.0 GPA with four student-athletes on the Dean's list.
Noting North Alabama
• North Alabama comes into the contest with a 14-4 mark and a 5-1 record in conference play. The sole Lion loss in ASUN play came to league-leader FGCU.
• The Lions have had a week off after beating Stetson 68-57 last Monday.
• North Alabama is led by Ivy Wallen, who is netting 16.8 points per game and is shooting at a 39.4 percent clip behind the arc.
• Wallen's twin sister Emma is second in scoring, scoring 12.6 point per game.
