LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Kennesaw State men's and women's track teams competed at the Liberty Kickoff  on Friday (Jan. 24).
 
Event Wins

• The women's 4x800 relay team of Sarah Hendrick, Britiney Johnson, Hope Thornton and Ella Weaver won the event in a time of 9:14.61 to establish a new school and facility record.

 
Combined Events
Men's Heptathlon (Through four events)

• Scott Simpson sits in 10^th place with a total of 2248 points.

 
Women's Pentathlon (Completed)

• Jessica Watkins finished second scoring 3418 points.
• Watkins opened the event winning the 60m hurdles in 8.95 seconds.
• Kyarra Newton took third with a career-best 3360 points.

 
Notable Performances

• Makenzie Zeh was second in the 5k with a time of 17:11.89.
• Katie Meyer ran time of 17:48.46 to finish fifth in the 5K.
• Nia Seldon grabbed fourth in the weight throw with a toss of 18.24m (59'10").

 
The Owls will finish competition at the Liberty Kickoff on Saturday (Jan.  25).
