KENNESAW, Ga. – The student-athletes at Kennesaw State held their annual Owls Choice Awards banquet on Sunday night at the KSU Convocation Center, celebrating the achievements of the 2019 calendar year.

Men's track & field standout
Daniel Haugh collected the Male Player of the Year award, while women's soccer's
Tiffany Sornpao was named the Female Athlete of the Year.
Â
Haugh won the hammer throw at the NCAA Championships with a toss of 74.63m (244'10"). The win also made him first athlete from KSU and the ASUN Conference to win an NCAA Championship. He set the KSU school record and the ASUN Championship record in the hammer throw and discus and was a three-time ASUN Field Athlete of the Week.
Â
Sornpao started in all 20 matches with a league-leading 1,770 minutes of playing time this past season. The redshirt-junior saved 82 shots on goal and logged six shutouts.
Â
Carlotta Gianolla took home the Dave Waples Total Person Award. The Total Person Award is given out to the upperclassman who exemplifies all of the qualities that are wanted in a Kennesaw State student-athlete, including athletic and academic achievement, character, leadership and community service.
In addition to the individual awards, the women's golf and volleyball teams were honored for ASUN conference championships.
