KENNESAW, Ga. – For over a decade, Kennesaw State has hosted the annual Lexi's Day softball game with Georgia Tech serving as a willing partner.

In what has become a beloved tradition, the Owls, the Yellow Jackets, the Alexis Kaiser Foundation and KSU's SAAC have partnered together to enrich the lives of local children (and their families) by raising both funds for, and awareness of, the numerous children in metro-Atlanta that live with neuromuscular ailments.

Next Wednesday (Apr. 10) the Kennesaw and metro-Atlanta community will band together once again for Lexi's Day at Bailey Park with festivities beginning as early as 5 p.m.

This year's event is going to be very special as the Owls will celebrate the event's namesake - Lexi Kaiser – for the first time since the inaugural Lexi's Game in 2007 by throwing her a pre-game Sweet Sixteen Birthday Celebration.

Fans attending the game will have the opportunity to support Lexi's Day by purchasing a $10 ticket for a pregame dinner provided by the Marietta Fish Market. Cash, as well as checks made out to the Kennesaw State Athletic Association, will be accepted.

The seafood will be served at 5 p.m. in the Teasley Suite of the Bobbie Bailey Building, and will be limited to the first 150 people who purchase a $10 dinner ticket.

There will also be a limited number of commemorative t-shirts (identical to what both teams will receive) available to purchase for $10.

This year's primary goal is to raise funds to help Lexi's family purchase a lift that will help her get from her bed to her bathroom. While that might not sound like much of a birthday present to a 16-year-old, that lift will have a huge, positive impact on her for years to come.

The day's on-field "Pass the Helmet" pregame ceremony with Lexi will start at 5:50 p.m., with first pitch slated for 6 p.m.

We invite you to purchase your meals and/or make a contribution online here

The Alexis Kaiser Foundation is a 5013C organization.  One hundred percent of the proceeds from the meal, donations and t-shirt sales will go directly to the Alexis Kaiser Foundation - and 100% of all funds raised by the AKF go directly to helping local young people who live with neuromuscular ailments - the organization has no "administrative expenses".
