Kennesaw, Ga. – The Kennesaw State track and field teams wrapped up action at the Don McGarey Invitational on Saturday at the KSU Outdoor Track and Field Complex.

The Owls honored nine seniors prior to the meet. 
 
School Records

• The Owls 4x100m relay team of Omar Diaz, Jordan Hewing, Cameron Bolden and DJ Akindele posted a time of 40.12 to win the event.
• Nia Seldon launched the shot put 13.98m (45'10.5") to finish second in the event.

 
Men's Top Performances

• Chase Kennedy won the 1500m with a time of 3:54.42.
• DJ Akindele recorded a time of 14.04 in the 110m hurdles to win the event.
• Aaron Goodwin ran a season-best time of 48.82 to win the 400m.
• Jordan Hewing posted a lifetime-best time of 21.27 to win the 200m.
• The Owls 4x400m relay team of Jordan Hewing, Aaron Goodwin, Omar Diaz and Montreal Milton closed out the meet winning in a time of 3:15.96.
• Tyler Blalock landed a toss of 17.07m (56'0") and Chuck McConville threw 16.43m (54'4.5") to finish second fourth in the shot put.
• Brenton Rosa cleared 5.08m (16'8) to finish second in the pole vault.

 
Women's Top Performances

• The Owls 4x100m relay team of Tionna Fant, Destiny Jackson, Alex Andrews and Jirah Simpkins opened the day with a win in a time of 46.27.
• Brenda Ayuk (4:33.85) and Katie Meyer (4:42.51) took the top two spots in the 1500m with career-best performances.
• Sarah Hendrick (2:08.97) and Brenda Ayuk (2:12.41) finished first and second in the 800m.
• Destiny Jackson finished the 200m in a lifetime-best time of 24.11 to win the event.
• The 4x400m relay team of Jayla Mobley, Aseneth Williams, Briah McBride and Imani Christian took home a victory in 3:39.84.
• Javon Joyner had a personal-best toss of 13.30m (43'7.75") to grab third place in the shot put.
• Julija Tarvide won the high jump clearing 1.76m (5'9.25").
• Erica Sergeant was victorious in the pole vault after clearing 4.00m (13'1.5").

"What a day to be an Owl. I cannot say thank you enough to everyone at KSU for the support for our program. We had more school records and personal-best performances today which was great to see."

The Owls will return to action on May 10-11 at the ASUN Conference Championships at Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida.
