Tournament Preview
The No. 37 Kennesaw State women's golf team is set to begin postseason play at the ASUN Conference Championship on Sunday-Tuesday, April 21-23 in Braselton, Georgia at the Legends Club at Chateau Elan.
The winner of the ASUN Championship earns an automatic berth into the NCAA Championships. The NCAA Regionals will take place May 6-8.
The tournament will consist of 54 holes, with 18 holes on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. The Owls will tee off at 11:38 a.m. on Sunday. Tee times for Monday and Tuesday will be determined by the teams place after each round.
Under the leadership of 12th-year head coach
Rhyll Brinsmead, the Owls have their eyes set on winning a second-straight ASUN Conference Championship and making an NCAA Regional appearance, while also looking to make history as the first KSU women's golf team to advance to the NCAA Championship.

The seven-team field includes No. 37 Kennesaw State, No. 142 Jacksonville, No. 68 North Florida, No. 112 FGCU, No.146 Stetson, N/E North Alabama and No. 230 Lipscomb.

Owls Win Stroke Play Portion of Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic
The No. 45 Kennesaw State women's golf team earned its second win of the year on Thursday, April 11 finishing tied for medalist honors in the stroke play portion of the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic at the UGA Golf Course.
KSU recorded a 2-over par total of 290 to tie Augusta for the victory marking the second straight year the Owls have won multiple team titles. The Owls collected key wins over No. 6 Arkansas, No. 12 South Carolina, No. 21 Alabama, No. 36 Ole Miss and No. 39 Georgia which helped them finish ahead of six nationally ranked SEC programs.

Thornton Collects ASUN Golfer of the Week
Chloe Thornton was tabbed ASUN Women's Golfer of the Week the conference announced on Thursday, April 18. Thornton tied for co-medalist honors at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic after carding a 4-under 68 helping the Owls to tie for team title. The freshman posted a pair of eagles over her final three holes and led the field in par five scoring at 4-under. She knocked off 14 nationally ranked players as she carded her fifth round under par this season. She went 1-0-1 in the match play portion of the event. She recorded a 2-up win over Delaney Shah of Louisville on Saturday. This is her first career ASUN Golfer of the Week Award.
Aveling Named ASUN Golfer of Week
Clara Aveling was named ASUN Women's Golfer of the Week the conference announced on Thursday, April 11. Aveling led the Owls at the Brickyard Collegiate. The senior recorded rounds of 71-71 for a 2-under par total of 142. She collected 22 pars and 9 birdies and finished in sixth place overall. This is her third time as the Owls top finisher in a tournament and third top-10 finish of the season. This is Aveling's third career ASUN Golfer of the Week Award.
Thavong Named ASUN Golfer of the Week
Medy Thavong was named ASUN Conference Women's Golfer of the Week the conference announced Thursday (Mar. 28). Thavong was the Owls top finisher at the Hawkeye El-Tigre Invitational. She carded rounds of 74-72-70 for an even-par total of 216. Her round of 2-under par 70 tied for the Owls lowest of the event. Her total score of 216 was her lowest of the season. The senior led the field with 44 pars in the event. This is her fourth career ASUN Women's Golfer of the Week Award.
Aveling Tabbed ASUN Golfer of the Week
Clara Aveling was tabbed ASUN Conference Women's Golfer of the Week the conference announced Thursday (Feb.7). Aveling helped the No. 37 Owls to a fifth place finish in a very strong field at the UCF Challenge. She posted rounds of 68-71-72 with a career-low total score of 5-under par 211 to tie for tenth. She beat 10 players that were ranked in the Golfstat top 100 individually. The redshirt-junior helped the Owls break the 54-hole scoring record on a par-72 course by seven shots. This was her eighth time finishing as the Owls top finisher in her career.
A Historic Season
The Kennesaw State women's golf team won its third ASUN Women's Golf Championship title last season by nine shots. KSU posted nine top-five finishes an impressive 108-39 record. The Owls set the school record with a 296.24 scoring average and KSU finished the season with the highest ranking in school history at No.48 in the Golfstat rankings. All seven members of last year's squad earned ASUN postseason honors including
Rhyll Brinsmead who was named ASUN Coach of the Year. The Owls concluded their season posting their lowest postseason score ever at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional.
Thavong Earns Academic Honor
Medy Thavong was named to the 2017-18 Women's Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team. Thavong earned a 3.95 GPA while majoring in Accounting. On the course, she played in six events this season with a 75.18 scoring average. She recorded three season-low rounds of even par 72 at the 2018 Hawkeye-El Tigre Invitational and was the Owls top finisher at the tournament with an even-par 216 finishing tied for second. This was her third time on the All-American Scholar Team.

Head coach
Rhyll Brinsmead is in her 12th season at the helm of the Kennesaw State women's golf program. In her time as an Owl, she has led KSU to a trio of ASUN Conference titles and NCAA Regional Championship appearances, coming in 2011-2012, 2014-15 and 2017-18. A talented golfer in her own right, Brinsmead played collegiately at Texas State and graduated in 2004.
