Chloe Thornton was tabbed ASUN Women's Golfer of the Week the conference announced on Thursday.
"Chloe played tremendously at the Liz Murphey, playing her last three holes 4-under," Head Coach
Rhyll Brinsmead said. "I'm so pleased for her to be recognized by the ASUN for her efforts. She is very deserving!"
Thornton tied for co-medalist honors at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic after carding a 4-under 68 helping the Owls to tie for team title. The freshman posted a pair of eagles over her final three holes and led the field in par five scoring at 4-under.
She knocked off 14 nationally ranked players as she carded her fifth round under par this season. She went 1-0-1 in the match play portion of the event. She recorded a 2-up win over Delaney Shah of Louisville on Saturday. This is her first career ASUN Golfer of the Week Award.
The Owls will look to win a second-straight ASUN Conference Championship on April 21-23 at the Chateau Elan Legends Club.
