Final Results

ATHENS, Ga. – The Kennesaw State men's golf team wrapped up the regular season on Monday afternoon, finishing tied for fifth in the 17-team field at the Southern Intercollegiate hosted by the University of Georgia at Athens Country Club.

The Owls had a top-five showing for the fifth time this year, posting rounds of 294-299 – 593 (+17) to finish tied with Western Kentucky and USC Upstate. No. 17 South Carolina won the team title at 14-under, followed by Wofford (+6), No. 14 Georgia (+9) and Gardner-Webb (+16).

"We had a great time today in the Southern Intercollegiate," said head coach Bryant Odom. "Playing a fivesome as a team is a unique opportunity and Athens Country Club was in perfect condition with firm and fast greens. We had a solid morning round and caught fire early in the second round but lost momentum and couldn't quite recover the lost strokes. Overall a T5 finish is something we can build on this week preparing for the ASUN Championship."

The Owls were led by a pair of top-20 performances, as Wyatt Larkin finished T-15th overall and Pablo Rodriguez-Tabernero Torres was T-15th in the field of 85 players. Larkin opened his day with a birdie and added an eagle two holes later. He would settle for a 1-over 73 in the morning, before coming back with a 2-over 74 in the afternoon. Torres rolled in three birdies in each round and signed for matching 74's to finish at 4-over for the tournament.

Connor Coffee tallied an eagle and five birdies and finished T-31st overall at 7-over for the 36-hole event. Conner Rostowsky came out firing in the morning with six birdies and finished T-35th, while Grant Sutliff rounded out the team T-40th overall.

As a team, KSU finished second in the field in par five scoring at 18-under par, including a tournament-high three eagles. The Owls also finished tied for third in the event with 28 birdies.

The Owls return to action April 21-23 for the ASUN Championship at the Legends Course at Chateau Elon in Braselton, Georgia. The winner of the league title will receive an automatic bid to NCAA Regionals May 12-14 at one of six host sites around the country.
