STATESBORO, Ga.- The Kennesaw State men's tennis team fell to Winthrop 6-1 on Saturday (Mar. 9) at the Wallis Tennis Center.

"Overall, today was not a great day both with the level of play as well as our resiliency," Director of Tennis
Matt Emery said. "We needed to do a better job in several spots to figure out ways to win even though we weren't playing our best. This team is very hungry and will learn the tough lessons from today and come out with a vengeance tomorrow."

Winthrop won the doubles point collecting two of the three doubles matches. The Owls would get a 6-2 win in doubles from
Gaston Muhammad and
Fermin Calvo Barcelo over Alberto Tingali and Aditya Gokhale.

The Owls lone win in singles came from
Harvey Maughan at No.6 who defeated Leandros Pappayiannis 3-6, 6-2, 7-5.

The Owls return to action on Sunday (Mar.10) vs Georgia Southern at the Wallis Tennis Center in Statesboro at 9:30 a.m.
