KENNESAW, Ga. – Freshman 
Christen Florence highlighted a 13-hit attack and senior 
Hailey Andrews was dominant in the circle as the Kennesaw State softball team defeated visiting Jacksonville 9-1 in six innings to complete the three-game series sweep Sunday at Bailey Park.
 
Florence went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs while Andrews (12-10) struck out nine en route to earning her third win of the series for the Owls (20-18, 5-4).
 
Kennesaw State also received two hits apiece from 
Maddie Roth, 
Jade Lee and 
Brea Dickey, who along with 
Kira Czyrklis, drove in a pair of runs.
 
Meanwhile, Andrews capped off an impressive weekend in the circle as she allowed four hits, a run and walked one in seven innings. The KSU right-hander pitched 15 innings in the series, allowed two runs and struck out 25.
 
The Owls took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth on a two-run double by Czyrklis that plated Florence and Roth. Florence reached on a bloop double down the left field line and Roth singled up the middle to put runners on second and third.
 
After Jacksonville answered with a run in the top of the fifth, Kennesaw State responded with a three-run bottom half of the inning as Roth and Florence had run-producing hits and 
Hannah Thomason collected an RBI.
 
KSU's bats stayed hot in the sixth as they scored four runs on five hits to complete their third walk-off win of the series. The inning was highlighted by a double from Lee, two-run double by Dickey and a run-scoring single by Florence.
 
Kennesaw State returns to action Saturday when it opens a three-game ASUN Conference series versus North Florida in Jacksonville. The two teams will play a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. before closing out the series with a 1 p.m. contest on Sunday.
