KENNESAW, Ga.- The Kennesaw State women's tennis team came back from an early deficit to defeat North Alabama 4-3 on Saturday at the Betty Siegel Courts.
 
"It was a tremendous overall effort from the girls today," Director of Tennis Matt Emery said. "We were not happy at all with the way we played the doubles point. We have to do a much better job in that area. I felt like we basically gave that point away and that really put us in a hole down 0-1. Jessica getting off the court relatively quick gave the other three a huge boost. We were super proud of the confidence Elle, Aspen, and Kendall showed in the final stages of that match. We were still in and out with our belief and focus a little bit so we made it tougher than it should have been. We couldn't be more proud of the way the girls finished the match playing to win."
 
The Lions grabbed the doubles point winning two matches.
 
UNA pushed their lead to 3-0 after two singles victories. The Owls refused to give up. Jessica Cantrell got the Owls on the board with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Nele Sietz at No. 5.  Elle Baker picked up her first win of the season outlasting Claudia Arroyo 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 at No. 3. Aspen Jarrett tied the match when she defeated Megan Humphreys 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 at No. 5. Kendall Nash completed the comeback and sealed the win for the Owls with a 6-7, 6-3, 7-5 win over Nina Linke at No. 4.
 
The Owls will return to action at home vs. North Florida on Thursday, April 4 at 2 p.m.
