PUERTO VALLARTA, Mexico- The No. 37 Kennesaw State women's golf team sits in sixth place after the second round of the Hawkeye El Tigre Invitational on Friday at the El Tigre Golf and Country Club. The Owls posted a 12-over 300 and have a 25-over par total of 301 through two rounds. KSU sits just three shots behind No. 35 Tennessee for third place.

"Overall another frustrating day on the course," Head Coach Rhyll Brinsmead said. "I feel as though we played better but the score doesn't reflect this. Our execution in the wind has hurt us but we know the wind will be the same tomorrow and by now are prepared for how this effects the holes. We are three shots back from a top three finish and I know we can make a move tomorrow if we play smart golf."

Medy Thavong paced the Owls with a round of 72 on Friday. The senior collected 14 pars and two birdies in her second round. Brinsmead said, "Medy played a very solid round today, I'm very proud of her composure." Through two rounds, she is tied for the field lead with 28 pars. She is tied for seventh with Chloe Thornton at 2-over par 146. Thornton fired a 4-over par 76 in the second round.

Charlotte Charrayre carded a round of 4-over par 76 with 14 pars. She sits tied for 38th at 10-over par 154.

Clara Aveling fired a 4-over par 76 and is tied for 41st at 11-over par 155.

Roanne Tomlinson is tied for 47th at 13-over par 157.

The Owls will play the final round of the Hawkeye El-Tigre Invitational on Saturday, March 23 at 2 p.m. ET.
