Weekend Preview
The Kennesaw State men's tennis team hosts Liberty to open ASUN Conference play on Saturday at 5 p.m. on the Betty Siegel Courts. 


The Owls are looking to continue their strong play of late having defeated Jacksonville State and Tennessee State earlier this week.
 
Scouting Liberty
Liberty is 6-9 so far on the season The Flames fell 6-1 to No. 10 Arizona on Thursday (Mar.14). Nicaise Muamba paces the Flames with a 10-4 record this season.


The Series
Saturday's match marks the second meeting between the two programs. Liberty defeated KSU 4-3 indoors at Lifetime Fitness in Peachtree Corners.

The Last Time Out
The Kennesaw State men's tennis team picked up its second consecutive win with a 4-3 victory over Tennessee Tech on Wednesday (Mar.20) at the Betty Siegel Courts.
 
"Great team effort today," Director of Tennis Matt Emery said. "Anyone familiar with Tennessee Tech over the years knows that they are very talented, are well coached and compete really hard. Bryan and Sebastian taking care of business and getting off the court in straight sets definitely gave us a huge momentum boost. Lucas did a tremendous job of gutting out the win at No.2. Also a huge shout out to Kevin for stepping up and clinching in his second college match. He showed a lot of guts at the end of the match today and it paid off."
 
The Golden Eagles grabbed the doubles point winning two of the three doubles matches. Fermin Calvo Barcelo and Gaston Muhammad led Wenceslao Albin and Riku Kubota 5-4 when the point was clinched.
 
Bryan Triana opened the scoring for the Owls with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Gonzalo Garcia at No. 3. Sebatian Osorio tied the match at two with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Riko Kubota at No. 5. Lucas de Torres Curth was victorious over Carlos Vincente 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 at No. 2. At No. 6, Kevin Patel sealed the win for the Owls gathering a 7-6, 6-4 win over Wencelao Albin.  
 
The Owls open ASUN Conference play vs Liberty on Saturday (Mar.23) at 5 p.m. on the Betty Siegel Courts at KSU.
