PEACHTREE CORNERS, Ga. – The Kennesaw State men's tennis team fell 4-0 to Georgia State on Friday (Mar.1) at Lifetime Fitness.
"I loved our fight tonight," Director of Tennis
Matt Emery said. "We got a little unlucky in the doubles having match points and just not quite getting it. That is tennis. In the singles, we put ourselves in a position to win almost every spot. Georgia State played a little better in just a couple key moments which was the difference but I love the way our guys fought and gave themselves a chance to win."
The Panthers (6-5) won the doubles point at No.3 to clinch the point. KSU collected a win in doubles from
Gaston Muhammad and
Fermin Calvo Barcelo who beat Diego Padhila and Bailey Showers 6-3 at No.2.
Georgia State won the match by winning the first three singles matches. KSU (2-4) did get strong efforts in singles from
Fermin Calvo Barcelo and
Sebastian Osorio.
The Owls return to action on Saturday (Mar.2) at 1 p.m. vs Austin Peay on the Betty Siegel Courts at KSU.
