KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State women's tennis team came up on the short end of a 5-2 decision to Jacksonville State on Tuesday (Mar.19) at the Betty Siegel Courts at KSU.

The Gamecocks (7-2) won the doubles point collecting wins in two of the three doubles matches.Jessica Cantrell and Brenna Reilly were leading Alessia Locati and Cristina Moll Alles 5-3 when the point was clinched.
 
In singles, Lara Mehlsam beat Alessia Locatti 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2. Kendall Nash battled back from a set down to defeat Alba Conjero 5-7, 6-3, 11-9.   

"I liked the way we competed in singles," Director of Tennis Matt Emery said. "We were very close to several of those matches turning and making the team match very interesting. We need to do a better job of starting the doubles with more intensity. We just played from behind the whole time on courts one and two and that is tough to overcome."
 
The Owls (1-11) will host Liberty to open ASUN Conference play on Saturday (Mar.23) at 1 p.m. on the Betty Siegel Courts at KSU.
