EATONTON, Ga. – Junior
Connor Coffee shot a 3-under par 69 to lead the Kennesaw State men's golf team during the first round of the Linger Longer Invitational that opened Friday at the par-72, 6,991-yard The Landing Course at Reynolds Lake Oconee on Friday.
Coffee's performance highlighted a 5-over par 293 total by the Owls who are in 11th place in the 15-team event. Louisville, ranked No. 25 in the latest Golfstat rankings, leads the field after posting a 10-under par total of 278 and assuming a two-shot advantage over No. 21 Liberty (282, -8).
Louisville's Jiri Zuska carded a 7-under par 65 and holds a two-shot lead over teammate Matthias Schmid and Marc Boucher of Charlotte.
Freshman
Grant Sutliff turned in a 1-over par 73 and is tied for 32nd, while senior
Wyatt Larkin (74) is tied for 41st. Sophomore
Justin Kim (76, +4), who is playing as an individual, is tied for 59th.
Brady Keran (77, +5) is tied for 66th, while
Pablo Rodriguez-Tabernero Torres and
Adam Morris are tied for 72nd after posting scores of 6-over par 78. Morris is playing as an individual.
