Statesboro, Ga- The Kennesaw State men's tennis team dropped a close 4-3 decision to Georgia Southern on Sunday (Mar. 10) at the Wallis Tennis Center.
"Today was a great college match," Director of Tennis
Matt Emery said. "In my opinion, the intensity and energy from both teams today is what makes college tennis fun. I absolutely love how our guys responded after yesterday which is why this team can be special. We grew up a lot today and gained some invaluable experience that will no doubt help us throughout the rest of the season."
The Owls collected the doubles point winning two of the three matches.
Gaston Muhammad and Fermin Calvo Barcello won 6-3 at No.1 then Lucas De Torres Curth and
Drew Lahey clinched the point with a 6-4 win at No. 2.
The Eagles would win the match after taking a four of the six singles matches which were all  highly contested. KSU grabbed a pair of wins in singles action.
Fermin Calvo Barcelo picked up a 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 win at No. 1.
Harvey Maughan continued his strong play with a 6-2, 6-4 victory at No. 6.

The Owls will host Cleveland State on Wednesday (Mar. 13) on the Betty Siegel Courts at KSU at 2 p.m.
