Gray Named ASUN Women's Most Outstanding Field Performer

KENNESAW, Ga. – Days after finishing third at the ASUN Indoor Championship over the weekend, the women's track and field team  received a postseason award the conference announced Friday (Mar.1). Jordan Gray was named ASUN Most Outstanding Field Performer of the meet.

Gray took the gold medal in the pentathlon with an ASUN Championship and facility record 4202 points. She became the first female in conference history to win an event four times. She won the 60m hurdles (8.74), shot put with a toss of 14.33m (47'0.25") and the long jump with a leap of 5.90m (19'7.5"). Her toss in the shot put set the school record in the pentathlon.  The Ball Ground, Ga. native would take home the silver medal in the shot put with a career-best toss of 14.66m (48"1.25"). That throw set a new school record in the event.  She was also second in the pole vault with a clearance of 3.55m (11' 7.75") and was fifth in the high jump with a leap of 1.65m (5'5") at the ASUN Championships. She scored 38 points and was named Women's MVP of the Meet. She previously won this award in 2017 and is the fourth individual in ASUN history to win the award on multiple occasions.

Gray will compete in the NCAA Indoor National Championships in the pentathlon and long jump on Friday (Mar.8) at the Birmingham Crossplex in Birmingham, Alabama.
