HOUSTON – The Kennesaw State softball team fell 8-0 in six innings to Houston in Sunday's finale of the Houston Challenge.

The Owls (5-9) were limited to four hits against the Cougars (11-5), who went 5-0 in the three-day tournament. KSU finished 3-2 with both losses coming to Houston.

Jade Lee,
Lexi Solorzano and
Olivia Gocke each had hits for the Owls. Freshman
Peyton Elzey (0-1) started for KSU and suffered the loss after pitching two innings, allowing four hits, four runs, walking two and striking out two.

Tournament Notes
- Junior Jade Lee led the Owls offensively, batting .467 (7-for-15) with a run scored, two doubles and team-high tying four RBIs.
- Sophomore Lexi Solorzano had four hits, four runs scored, four RBIs, homered twice and reached base safely in all five games.
- Junior Abby Deane went 2-0 with a 1.54 ERA in three appearances. She worked 13 2/3 innings, allowed four hits, three earned runs, walked three and struck out 11.
