Women's Basketball Plays Host To Georgia Tech Sunday

Top Storylines
• The Owls return home against Georgia Tech for the first time since Nov. 13 against Mercer. The Owls boast a 2-0 record at home so far this season with wins over the Bears and Samford. 

• Alexis Poole has been incredible so far this season for Kennesaw State. She ranks 17th in the country in double-doubles with four in eight games. She has already collected an ASUN Player of the Week award, which came after week one of the season. 

• Kennesaw State is hosting Georgia Tech for the first time since November 16, 2016, when the Yellow Jackets won 86-49. 

• One of the Owls' keys to victory this season has been rebounding the basketball. When Kennesaw State out-rebounds opponents, the Owls are 4-0 so far this season. 

• The Owls are trying to pick up their sixth win of the season this afternoon, Dec. 8. Last season, it took until Feb. 9 for Kennesaw State to pick up its sixth win of the season. 

• Amani Johnson has proven to be scrappy on the defensive end of the floor this season. She currently leads all ASUN players with 2.25 steals per game, a figure that ranks 134th in the country. 

• A trend that continues from last season, Amani Johnson rarely gets taken off the court. This season, she is averaging 38:03 minutes per contest, which ranks seventh in the country. 

Noting Georgia Tech
• Under first year head coach Nell Fortner, the Jackets are off to a hot start. They boast a 6-1 record and are coming off a 60-41 win against Wisconsin in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. 

• Georgia Tech is the country's best at defending the 3-point arc. Opponents are shooting just 18.4 percent from behind the arc against the Yellow Jackets. 

• The Ramblin' Wreck are a very balanced bunch, with three players averaging double digits this season. Francesca Pan leads GT with 15.1 points per game, followed by Lorela Cubaj (10.4) and Jasmine Carson (10.3).
