KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State Director of Tennis
Matt Emery has announced the signing of Takafumi Mimata who will join the Owls in August of 2020 after signing a National Letter of Intent.
Mimata arrives from Iwate, Japan.
"We are very excited about Takafumi joining our program," Emery said. "He is one of the top juniors in Japan and has tremendous upside. Coach Pritchard did a great job of identifying and evaluating Takafumi on the recruiting trail, and we cannot wait to get him on campus next fall."
Mimata was the top player on his high school team and led them to a national championship. He ranks in the top 10 individually in Japan.
The Owls open the spring season on Jan. 20 at Georgia.
