Round 1 Results
LOXLEY, Ala. – The Kennesaw State men's golf team opened play at the Steelwood Collegiate Invitational on Saturday at Steelwood Country Club.
"Today was a long grind for everyone," head coach
Bryant Odom said. "The weather delay forced us to play until dark with a few holes remaining. We look to continue our momentum into tomorrow and make a run up the leaderboard."
The Owls shot a 3-over par 291 in the opening round. Play began in the second round and the Owls had finished 12-18 holes before it was suspended due to darkness after a weather delay. KSU was in second place when play was halted for the day. The second round is scheduled to resume at 8:30 a.m. ET on Sunday, Oct. 27 with the final round beginning after the conclusion of round two.
Brock Healy led the Owls on Saturday. He carded a 1-under 71 in his opening round with two birdies and 15 pars. He is 1-under par through 12 holes in his second round.
Brady Keran carded a 1-over par 73 and is 1-over through 18 holes of his second round. Keran had the shot of the day for the Owls making a hole-in-one on the 17
th hole during his second round. Keran and
Connor Coffee are tied for 17
th at 2-over par in the second round. Coffee posted a 2-over par 74 in the opening round and is even-par through 13 holes of his second round.
Ryan Hines (79) and
Preston Topper (73) rounded out the scoring for the Owls. Hines is 3-under par through 18 holes in the second round and is tied for 36th at 4-over par. Topper is tied for 43
rd at 5-over and was 4-over through 18 holes in round two when play was called.
The Owls will finish play at the Steelwood Collegiate Invitational on Sunday, October 27 at 8:30 a.m. ET.
