KENNESAW, Ga.
The Kennesaw State men's golf team finished sixth at the Pinetree Intercollegiate that concluded Tuesday at Pinetree Country Club.

"Conditions got the best of us today and we were unable to maintain the pace of the leaders," head coach Bryant Odom said. "We were leading at the turn and the back nine got away from us. Preston (Topper) had a nice event with a top 10, continuing his fine play of recent. We will get some rest the next two days and regroup for our final tournament of the fall."

KSU posted a 312 to finish the tournament at 27-over par 891. Jacksonville State collected the team title at 14-over par 878. Evan Davis of Belmont won the individual title at 14-under par 202 which tied for the best 54-hole score in tournament history.

Preston Topper was the Owls' top finisher in the event. The freshman carded a 2-over par 74 in the final round to finish tied for eighth at 4-over par 220. His round of 74 was the Owls' low round of the day. He rolled in 10 pars and four birdies during his final round.

Ryan Hines and Brady Keran both recorded rounds of 79. Hines finish tied for 14th at 6-over par 222 while Keran tied for 34th at 13-over par 229.

Brock Healy tied for 39th and Connor Coffee tied for 47th at 14-over par and 16-over par, respectively.

The Owls will play at the Steelwood Collegiate Invitational hosted by South Alabama in Loxley, Ala. on Oct. 26-27 to close out the fall portion of the 2019-20 season.
