The Kennesaw State men's golf team posted a 3-over par 579 and is in second place after 36 holes of the Pinetree Intercollegiate that opened Monday at Pinetree Country Club in Kennesaw.

"Today was a lot of great golf with contributions from everyone," head coach Bryat Odom said. "This morning's we started well and continued our momentum into a strong finish. This afternoon was pretty much the opposite with a slower start and some lost shots down the stretch. If we can clean up the unforced errors on the greens, we will have a great opportunity of winning this tournament."

Ryan Hines guided the Owls on Monday with rounds of 69-74 for a 1-under par total of 143. Hines is tied for seventh.  After a bogey to open the first round, he made 13 pars and four birdies over the final 17 holes. His 69 in the first round was the Owls low round of the day.

Preston Topper (71-75) is tied for 13th at 2-over par 146 and Brock Healy (71-76) is tied for 15th at 3-over par 147. Topper made 26 pars on Monday which is tied for third-most in the field.
