TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Freshman
Taylor Dean won a pair of qualifying matches at the ITA Southeast Regional Championships on Thursday.
"Well deserved opportunity tomorrow for
Taylor Dean," Assistant Coach
Kirsten Lewis said. "She played two difficult opponents and stepped up to the plate and executed when it mattered. I am very proud of her efforts today as well as Sofia's who came up just a bit short in the third set. It is fun watching these girls compete and I know they (Paola and Taylor) are looking forward to begin main draw play tomorrow."
With the two wins, Dean advances to the main draw of singles which begins on Friday at the Scott Speicher Memorial Tennis Complex at Florida State.
After dropping the opening set, Dean rebounded and defeated Rachel Harden of FAMU by a score of 3-6, 6-4, 6-4.
