Game Day Storylines
• Kennesaw State (4-9) is coming off a 15-day break after rolling over North Carolina Central 78-54 on Dec. 21.Â
• This contest will be the first ASUN matchup for the Owls this season. Under Berenato, the Owls are 1-1 in conference-openers with the last win coming against Lipscomb on Jan. 7, 2017.
• Kennesaw State looks to remain undefeated against NJIT.
• Last season, the Owls finished 3-11 in conference play.
• The game against NCCU was the first since Georgia Southern (Nov. 28) in which the Owls ad five double-digit scorers (Avram -15, Gianolla- 15, Street- 13, Johnson- 10, Poole- 10)
• Today's guest coach will be Nevin Caple, who is an inclusion consultant and educator. She played basketball at Fairleigh Dickson on a full scholarship and looks up to Lebron James, Serena Williams, Dawn Staley and Colin Kaepernick. Â

Amani Johnson has made an impact early in her collegiate career as she opened the season with back-to-back ASUN Conference Freshman of the Week honors.
• Following her career performance of 20 points and 13 rebounds against Georgia Southern,
Simina Avram earned the ASUN Newcomer of the Week honors.
• Head coach
Agnus Berenato, who is in her 32nd season as a Division I head coach, is in her third year leading the Owls. She has an all-time record of 464-458 (.503), and guided Kennesaw State to the ASUN Conference semifinals in 2017.Â
• Kennesaw State has produced the last two ASUN Conference Freshmen of the Year in
Carlotta Gianolla (2017) and
Kamiyah Street (2018). Both players were unanimous picks.
• KSU returns three players who earned ASUN Conference postseason honors following the 2017-18 season. Forward
Carlotta Gianolla garnered all-academic honors, while
Kamiyah Street and
Alexis Poole were named to the all-freshman team. Street also was a second team all-conference selection.Â

• NJIT is currently 3-10 on the season and is coming into Saturday's contest on a two-game losing streak versus Kent State and Hartford.Â
• This game will be the ASUN opener for the HighlandersÂ
• NJIT has three players that average double-digit points. The Highlanders are led by Kelly Guarino (14.0) followed by Danielle Tunstall (10.2) and Ellyn Stoll (10.2)
• Tunstall leads NJIT with 8.2 rebounds per contest
• Guarino leads the Highlanders with 40 3-point makes. She has shot the ball well, as she is shooting 42.6 percent from beyond the arc
