KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State women's tennis team fell 6-1 to Samford on Saturday (Jan.26) at the Betty Siegel Courts at KSU.
 
 The Owls (0-4) won the doubles point collecting wins in two of the three doubles matches.  Aspen Jarrett and Kendall Nash def. Grace Jennings and Kristiana Lewis 6-3 at No.2 doubles. Brenna Reilly and Elle Baker clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 win over Arianna Beltrame and Holly Horsfall.

Samford (2-1) won all six of the singles matches. The Owls battled tough in singles as Juliana Castellanos, Kendall Nash, Aspen Jarrett, Zoe Wende and Brenna Reilly all pushed their matches to three sets before falling.
 
"I thought our girls competed great today," Director of Tennis Matt Emery said. "We were very pleased with the doubles. Those doubles points are often the difference in tight matches like this and we are going to win a lot of them if we keep playing with that type of confidence. The final score was 6-1, but we were in a very good position to win this match today. We got some great experience today learning how to handle those situations. This group of girls is so much fun to coach and we can't wait to get back to work this week and get ready for UAB."
 
The Owls host UAB on Friday (Feb.1) at 1 p.m. at the Betty Siegel Courts on the campus of KSU. Admission is free to all matches.
