USTFCCCA Release

NEW ORLEANS, LA –The Kennesaw State women's track and field team ranked No. 26 in the first edition of the Division I Women's Indoor Track & Field National Rating Index released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Tuesday (Feb.22).

The Owls are the highest ranked mid-major program in the poll. The Owls opened the season at No. 4, but moved up because of the big performance by Jordan Gray in the long jump at the ETSU Track and Field Invitational. KSU is the second of two programs in the state ranked inside the top 30. Georgia ranks No.4 in the poll.

The national team rankings are compiled by a mathematical formula based on national descending order lists. The purpose and methodology of the rankings is to create an index that showcases the teams that have the best potential of achieving the top spots in the national team race. Rankings points do not equate with NCAA Championships team points. Preseason rankings will include marks from 2018, and the National Team Computer Rankings will continue to do so through the third regular-season edition.

The Owls will travel to Lynchburg, Virginia to participate in the Liberty Kickoff January 25-26.
