KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State women's tennis team fell 4-0 and 4-1 in a pair of matches to Arkansas on Friday at the Betty Siegel Courts at KSU.

Arkansas (2-0) won four of the six singles contests to take the opening match of the day.
 
KSU was paced in the opening match by Juliana Castellanos, Aspen Jarrett and Zoe Wende. Castellanos came up on the short end of a 6-3, 6-3 defeat. Jarrett and Wende were leading in the second sets of their matches when the match was called.
 
In the second match Arkansas collected the doubles point taking two of the three matches. Wende picked up the Owls first point of the season with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Shwetha Prabakar at No.6 singles. Jarrett and Brenna Reilly battled tough in their matches that went unfinished.   

 "I was really proud of this group of ladies today," Director of Tennis Matt Emery said. "Even though we came out on the losing end, I loved the fight, confidence and fearlessness each of our girls showed out there. They are starting to realize that they can compete with any team in the country and we can't wait to get back to work next and keep getting better."

The Owls host Samford on the Betty Siegel Courts at KSU on Saturday, January 26 at 1 p.m. Admission is free to all home matches.
