Women's Basketball Plays Host To FGCU On Saturday

Game Day Storylines
• Kennesaw State (5-11) is looking bounce back on its home floor after dropping its first game of the season in the KSU Convocation Center against Liberty.
• After collecting her 103rd career steal against the NJIT, Kamiyah Street moved up to sixth place in KSU history in career steals. Currently, she has 117 swipes. 
Kamiyah Street attempted 27 field goals against NJIT which stands as the KSU 
Division I program record.
• KSU is looking for its first win against the Eagles since Feb. 14, 2011, a game the Owls won 63-52.
• Versus JU, Kennesaw State had five student-athletes end in double figures for the third time this season.
Kamiyah Street has scored in double figures in nine straight contests and has seven games with four or more steals.
• Kennesaw State forced Jacksonville into 28 turnovers, the most forced of any Division I opponent this season.
Alexis Poole had arguably one of the best individual performance of the season against Liberty, as she netted 27 points and collected 15 rebounds.
• The Owls made six 3-pointers against JU, marking their second-highest total of 2018-19.
• Rookie guard Amani Johnson has made an impact early in her collegiate career as she has collected four Freshman of the Week awards. She has won back-to-back Freshman of the Weeks.
• Following her career performance of 20 points and 13 rebounds against Georgia Southern, Simina Avram earned the ASUN Newcomer of the Week honors.
• Head coach Agnus Berenato, who is in her 32nd season as a Division I head coach, is in her third year leading the Owls. She has an all-time record of 466-462 (.503), and guided Kennesaw State to the ASUN Conference semifinals in 2017. 

Opponent Notes
• Florida Gulf Coast is currently 12-4 on the season and is coming into Saturday's contest on a three-game winning streak versus Liberty, North Alabama and North Florida. 
• The Eagles look to remain perfect in the ASUN this season.
• FGCU has two players that average double-digit points. The Eagles are led by Nasrin Ulel who averages 15.5 points per game. Keri Jewett-Giles is a significant contributor as well, as she averages 13.1 points and 2.3 rebounds per game.
• FGCU is just one of four programs at the NCAA Division I level to win 25 or more games in each season since 2010-11. The others include: UConn, Baylor and Notre
Dame. Stanford and James Madison fell off last year.
• FGCU continues to lead the ASUN in RPI as the Eagles check in at 77. 

Series
• This is the 23rd meeting between the two schools. FGCU leads the series 20-2.

Alexis Poole ended in double-digits for the 13th time this year and fifth game in a row
• Poole recorded a career-high 27 points
• Poole was the first player since Allison Johnson (Savannah State – Nov. 26, 2016) to record 15 or more rebounds
• This game was Poole's eighth double-double of the season
Amani Johnson ended with 10 points and six assists
Kamiyah Street finished with 16 points, extending her streak to nine games with double-figures
• KSU suffered its first loss of the season at home
