Tournament Information 

KENNESAW, Ga. – Senior Fermin Calvo Barcelo will play in the 2018 ITA All-American Championships on Sept. 29-Oct.8 in Tulsa, Oklahoma on the campus of Tulsa University.

Prequalifying matches will be held Sept.29-30.  Qualifying singles and doubles will be held October 1-2, with main draw matches transpiring between October 4-8.

 "I'm excited for Fermin to compete in the ITA All-American Championships, Director of Tennis Matt Emery said. "This is another opportunity for him to compete against the very best players in the country, which is where he belongs."

The event features 256 players in the prequalifying round with 128 advancing to the qualifying round. Players in the qualifying round must win three matches to advance to the main draw of 64 players.
 
In addition to vying for the All-American national title, players will be competing to secure a berth into the 2018 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships, which takes place November 7-11, in Surprise, Arizona. Singles quarterfinalists, consolation singles champion and finalist, along with doubles semifinalists and consolation doubles champion and finalist advance to the end of fall national championship.

Calvo Barcelo recorded a 26-7 record in singles and a 12-12 record in doubles last season. His 26 wins in singles action established a new program record breaking his previous record of 20 set in 2016-17. He won the Georgia Southern Championship going 4-0 in singles action. The Mar Del Plata, Argentina native won 15 consecutive singles matches at No.1 to close out the season after starting 1-4.  He lost only three sets during his 15-match win streak and was 6-0 in ASUN Conference singles action. He had a 10-8 record in dual match doubles action and picked up five wins each with Manuel Castellanos and Lucas De Torres Curth in dual match doubles. Calvo Barcelo earned ASUN Player of the Year honors and was named ASUN First Team All-Conference.
