EDITOR'S NOTE: Hall of Fame Week begins today as the Kennesaw State Department of Athletics will induct four new members into its Hall of Fame. A ceremony will be held Friday (Sept. 28) at the Embassy Suites in Kennesaw. The inductees will also be recognized during Saturday's KSU football game against Samford at Fifth Third Bank Stadium. KSUOwls.com and the Owl Network will profile each inductee throughout the week. Today, we get to know Jerome McKinzie, who was an All-American member of the KSU men's track and field team from 2007-10.

KENNESAW, Ga. - Four new members will be inducted into the Kennesaw State Athletics Hall of Fame when the Department of Athletics holds its annual induction ceremony on Friday. 
 
This year's class will include Jerome McKinzie (men's track and field; 2007-10), Patrina Hayes-Nicholson (women's cross country; 2004-05), Colby Tilley (women's basketball head coach; 1995-2012) and Laura Tucker (women's soccer; 2003-06).
 
Today, we profile Jerome McKinzie.

 

Jerome McKinzie (Men's Track and Field; 2007-10)
Jerome McKinzie set the standard during his Kennesaw State career, becoming the program's first athlete to advance to the NCAA Division I Indoor and Outdoor Championships where he was a two-time qualifier in the high jump. He was an eight-time (four indoor, four outdoor) ASUN Conference champion and first team all-conference honoree. McKinzie earned a bachelor's degree in communications.
