Final Results
GREENVILLE, S.C. –The Kennesaw State women's golf team took home a third place finish after the final round at the Lady Paladin Invitational on Sunday (Sept. 23).
KSU posted a 10-over par 298 to finish at 14-over par 878. Furman won the event with a 8-under total of 856. The Owls led the 17-team field with 182 pars in the three-day event. Haylee Hartford of Furman took the individual title with a 7-under par total of 207.
"While we dropped a place today, behind Coastal Carolina's great play, I'm overall very pleased with this result," head coach
Rhyll Brinsmead said. "Third place in this field is very impressive. It is easy to focus on what we could have and should have done better today but instead we choose to focus on what we did well over the three rounds and look ahead the Illinois event. This is the way we wanted to start season and this gets us even more motivated for the next event"
Madison Caldwell was the Owls top finisher in the event. She carded a 3-over par 75 in the final round to finish tied for 12
th with a 2-over par total of 218. This marked the seventh time in Caldwell's career that she has been the Owls top finisher in an event.
Roanne Tomlinson recorded a 4-over par 76 in the final round. She finished tied for 20
th at 3-over par 219.
Clara Aveling had the Owls low round of the day on Sunday with an even-par 72. She finish tied for 26
th with a 4-over par total of 220.
Charlotte Charrayre shot a 3-over 75 to finish tied for 48
th at 10-over par 226.
Chloe Thornton finished tied for 57
th with a 11-over total of 227 in her first collegiate event.
The Owls will head to Madinah, Illinois for the Illini Invitational at Medinah on Oct.8-9.
