KINGSTON SPRINGS, TENN. – Kennesaw State's
Madison Caldwell advanced to the match play portion of the U.S. Women's Amateur Championship at the 6,347-yard, par-71 Golf Club of Tennessee on Tuesday.
Needing to place in the top 64 to advance, the rising senior carded rounds of 74-69 for a 1-over par total of 142 to finish tied for 48th. Caldwell rolled in nine pars and four birdies in her opening round on Monday. She recorded five birdies and 11 pars during her second round. She reached the match play portion of the U.S. Women's Amateur for the second consecutive year.
"It has been a really fun and tough couple of days," Caldwell said. "The winds out here are strong and hard to judge but I finally was able to commit to my shots and get a good back nine in today to give myself a chance at match play again. I am happy to have a year of experience in this tournament and I look forward to going out tomorrow!"
The Milton, Ga. native will participate in the opening round of match play on Wednesday, Aug.8.
FS1 will broadcast the five days of match play from the tournament, showing the Amateur from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. EST each day.

Aug. 8 (Wednesday) – First round, match play
Aug. 9 (Thursday) – Second and third rounds, match play
Aug. 10 (Friday) – Quarterfinals, match play
Aug. 11 (Saturday) – Semifinals, match play
