WBB: Get To Know Lexi Mann

7/31/2018 12:03:00 PM

During the summer, various Kennesaw State women's basketball student-athletes will answer questions about their favorite memories, hobbies, interests and more in the Owls' "Get to Know" series. Now up, Lexi Mann!

What is your favorite movies/TV shows?
"The Office." I'm a very sarcastic person so I love the dry humor they use in it.

What is your food?
Chipotle is my favorite restaurant in the world, so I guess Mexican food.

What is your go-to karaoke song?
"Don't Stop Believing!" I need the lyrics, but once I get them, I'm going all out.

How did you first get involved in athletics?
My dad snuck me to try out for a team when I was 10 years old. My mom was totally against me playing basketball, but I think it's safe to say that everything worked out well.

What's your favorite thing about Kennesaw State women's basketball?
The coaching staff is my favorite part about our program. We're all family, and I've felt that since I've been here.

How do you think athletics benefits your life off the court?
Basketball has helped me to work well with others that are different from me. It has also helped me to be more assertive because I'm not much of an extravert. It helps be with my communication skills. I think it has also helped me with my confidence of being a tall girl.

Favorite professional basketball player?
My favorite pro basketball player is Candace Parker and Aja Wilson. I like them because I admire their game and they are like me because they are girly tall girls.

You're on a desert island – what three things other than a map or boat would you want?
A Chipotle restaurant, my phone (to Facetime the people who are offended that I didn't mention here), and my dogs.

Do you have any pre-game superstitions?
I always try to fit a nap in my schedule. I love sleeping, so a good 30 minute to an hour nap with some music will get me energized.

What are you looking forward to most this season?
I am looking forward to going to Mexico with my teammates and competing in a tournament there. I am also looking forward to everyone seeing how much our team has grown.
